Complex Cellular Systems workshop
We invite you to an exciting and informal cross-faculties workshop focused on Complex Cellular Systems including organoids, organs-on-a-chip, cells-on-chip, tissue engineering, and advanced in vitro models. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate, network, and discuss key challenges and innovative solutions in the field. The workshop aims to inspire open discussions, exchange ideas and experiences, and tackle real-world problems together, fostering new collaborations and insights. Although we are working on different organs and research questions, we face similar challenges where peer discussions could offer valuable insights.
We are excited to have two invited speakers. Jenny Emnéus, a professor at DTU and visiting professor at LU, specializes in biomaterials, microfluidics, and biosensors for neural interfacing. Dr. Janko Kajtez, a postdoc at reNEW, University of Copenhagen in the group of Agnete Kirkeby, using bioengineering to model and treat neurological disorders.
We also invite you to submit (maria.antfolk@bme.lth.se) your interest for a presentation (15 min). Time slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Presentations can focus on research findings using complex cellular systems or on challenges where informal peer discussions would be helpful.
The workshop will conclude with an open discussion on challenges, future directions, or other topics, followed by a networking session with food.
