PhD mentorship program re-launched for 2014

The PhD student section of the Student Union (TLTH), in collaboration with LTH, has organized the well-received mentorship program PLUME for PhD students three times before and is now in the starting phase for launching the fourth round of the mentorship program.

The participants in the will be assigned a personal mentor with significant work experience and a background as a former PhD student. The aim is to support PhD students in their career planning, to discuss and learn about topics such as job search or leadership and also enable PhD students to expand their network.  The program structure includes a mentor -mentee meeting approximately one hour once a month from August 2014 to May 2015. Besides the individual meetings there are four common seminar meetings with different themes, including a dinner which gives opportunities to network with all mentors and mentees in the program.

The application for being part of the PLUME program is open for PhD students at LTH. The PhD student section is in progress of identifying and involving appropriate mentors for the program, but this year PhD students can also bring mentors that they find on their own to the program. After the application deadline, about 30 students will be selected and matched with a mentor.
