Tomas Johansson. ![]() CARIBOU I wanted the project to display a possible vision of the future of transport in winter environment with sustainability in focus. Snowmobiles mostly run with oil smoking two-stroke engines that pollute the environment. Smell, noise, high toxic output and bad fuel economy. Can it be solved with alternative sources of energy? How will an alternative source of energy change the conditions for the product? Winter tourists are very concerned about the environment and how the climate change will affect their winter mountain experience. My concept aims for people who want to get out as much as possible from mountain staying but who doesn’t go cross country and don´t want to buy or rent an environmentally unfriendly snowmobile that disturbs both humans and animals. The snowmobiles of today can mostly be conceived as aggressive, powerful and intimidating for unfamiliar users. The snowmobiles have much more in common with motorcycles than the mountain. The concept is electric with Lithiumion batteries. The range and speed are compatible with standard machines. ![]() ![]() Tomas Johansson www.tomaserikaxel.se info@tomaserikaxel.se +46 739-23 96 72 Presskit |
