Success for LUracing at Silverstone

LUracing has been successful with its new racing car at Silverstone. Students from the Faculty of Engineering LTH came in 8th place out of approximately 100 cars built by students. Lund University finished in fourth place among the petrol-fuelled cars. The LTH team also won a prize - Innovation in propulsion systems - awarded by Jaguar Land Rover.
LUracing is a project developed into a one-year course at the Faculty of Engineering LTH, but other students from the university are welcome to apply. Each year, 30 engineering students from different study programmes at LTH build a car to compete against other students in the annual race at Silverstone in England. This year the students will also compete in a second race in Austria at the F1 track Red BUll Ring.
The idea behind the concept is to give engineering students practical experience during their studies, and be better prepared for their future careers.
