In this first event for the autumn of 2024 organised by Women in Mathematical Sciences at Lund, we have a guest speaker from the University of Cambridge.

Rachel Camina is a lecturer at the University of Cambridge, and her research interests lie in group theory. The talk will take place in the Hörmander Lecture Hall in the MH building. Rachel will tell us something about her research and about her career path, in a talk accessible for undergraduate students. Everybody is welcome.

Abstract: After a brief introduction to group theory we will consider the Nottingham group. A group that is in many ways small, but also universal.
