Tid: 2024-10-23 11:15 till 12:00 Seminarium

Aerosol science has widespread applications in medicine in areas such as inhaled drug delivery, lung diagnostics, vaccine administration, breath analysis, airborne disease transmission and infection prevention. However, aerosol researchers – who typically have a background in physics, chemistry, or engineering – may face various obstacles in reaching a medical audience or establishing successful collaborations with medical specialists.

Professor Jakob Löndahl held this presentation as a plenary talk during the European Aerosol Conference in August.

In this talk, he will reflect on challenges and opportunities to strengthen collaborations between aerosol science and the medical community. He will provide examples from studies on inhaled particles together with lung medicine and on disease transmission together with specialists in infection control. The aim is to facilitate future interactions between aerosol science and medicine and to support anyone wishing to work in this fascinating and important cross-disciplinary field.
