Daniel Diaz Rivas awarded for best Master's Thesis in Photonics 2022
In his thesis work, Lund University Master's student Daniel Diaz Rivas shows that is possible to reconstruct the time-dependent polarisation of a very short pulse using a dispersion scan technique. Rivas recently recieved a price for best Master's Thesis by PhotonicSweden.

VR helps us experience historical places
Virtual reality might be the closest we can get to a time machine. For instance, it can be used to experience historical communities – such as the Iron Age city of Uppåkra in southern Sweden, according to LU researcher Mattias Wallergård.

Researcher from LTH receives SEK 36 million from the Wallenberg Foundation
Four researchers from Lund University have been awarded considerable grants from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation – Mikael Akke from LTH is one of them. Over a five-year period, they will conduct major projects on allosteric signalling, more effective immunotherapy, secretive helper proteins and quantum entanglement.

Lars Samuelson at LTH receives the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences’ Great Gold Medal
Lars Samuelson, professor of nanotechnology and semiconductor electronics at LTH and founder of NanoLund, is awarded the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences’ (IVA) Great Gold Medal for significant contributions to the Academy's field of activity. The award is presented by IVA’s patron, HM The King.

Gothenburg Lise Meitner Award to Anne L'Huillier
Anne L'Huillier, Professor of Atomic Physics at LTH, was awarded the Gothenburg Lise Meitner Prize in 2020, an annual award for a researcher who has made a breakthrough in physics. Due to the pandemic, the award ceremony was cancelled, but next week the award ceremony will finally take place.
