Assessment

Assessment group

The applicant's qualifications are evaluated by a special assessment group (the assessors). This group is appointed by the LTH Careers Board and consists of teachers who have themselves already been awarded ETP (those from LTH). The assessment group should also include one external assessor (from another university) and two internal educational experts. The educational experts do not take part in the decision on whether to accept an application or not. The assessment group provides the LTH Careers Board with a basis for a decision.

Interview

The applicant is called for an interview with parts of the internal assessment group (normally three persons) together with the educational experts. The interview should be seen as a complement to the submitted teaching portfolio and the statements from the head of department and the Students' Union. It is especially important that the interview confirms that the applicant’s teaching and learning philosophy and teaching practice form an integrated whole. Moreover, the interview should follow the portfolio in such a way that it allows for the applicant to orally go into details regarding themes and examples given.

LTH Careers Board

LTH Careers Board has the overall responibility for the ETP process and allocates work to the assessment group. The board decides to recommend the LTH Dean to either accept or deny an application after a motivation from the assessment group.
