Until just a few days ago, Ulrika Forsgren Högman was the Head of Communications at Länsstyrelsen Skåne, where she spent two successfully renewing the organisation’s external communications.
How does it feel to be at LTH?
I’m really happy to be here – I have been completely charmed by LTH. There is such variety among the different departments, and my feeling is that both research and education here has an uncommonly direct connection to societal benefit. I really like the atmosphere at LTH – the international environment and all the students milling about. I’m happy to be in a place where new knowledge is created.
What did you do during your time at Länsstyrelsen Skåne?
I focused a lot on brand development and changing over from a reactive to a proactive communication strategy. By restructuring our work we were able to be more creative and develop new ways of working.
What are you planning to do here at LTH?
I’m going to start by having meetings with the people in my department to get to know them and what they do. I want to start by listening and learning. After a while I will start working on a communication strategy. I’m looking forward to working with collaboration and so-called branding for such a fantastic institution, and I feel as though I’ve become part of a really good team with a great atmosphere.
What are your professional strengths?
"I’ve only recently received feedback from my previous colleagues who said ”thanks for daring to do things differently”. I’m a developer with a focus on strategy."
