LTH's graduation ceremony
On Monday 30 May, it is time for 187 graduates to receive their degrees from the Dean at LTH's formal graduation ceremony in the auditorium of the main university building. During the ceremony, which will be broadcast live, scholarships and prizes will also be awarded for outstanding work, both to researchers, teachers and students.

In the spring of 2022, 187 newly graduated engineers, Master's students, and architects will receive their degree during LTH's graduation ceremony in the auditorium of the main university building.
The graduation ceremony is divided into two sessions, the first starting at 12 a.m. and the second at 4 p.m. Both ceremonies will be broadcast live on www.lth.se/stream so that loved ones - in and outside Sweden - who cannot attend, have the opportunity to follow the ceremony remotely.
Keynote speaker
The keynote speaker will be Jerry Bengtson. Jerry is an alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering programme and until 2021 he was CEO of Tetra Pak Sweden. Jerry Bengtson has also been an external member of the LTH Board between 2015-2020.
Research prize
This year's research prize, SEK 100,000, from the Sparbankens Färs and Frostas Foundation is awarded to Doctor of Technology Louise Gren for her thesis in the field of areosol technology:
Renewable Diesel Fuels and Emission Control Strategies - Implications for Occupational Exposure, Human Health, and the Environment
From the motivation: "Louise Gren has enabled unique new interdisciplinary collaborations on renewable fuels, especially different types of biomass-based diesel fuels, such as hydrogen-treated residues and waste products and vegetable oils."
Prizes for graduation projects in the field of sustainable development
Sparbankens Färs och Frostas Foundation also awards two graduation prizes of SEK 25 000 each for particularly outstanding graduation projects in the field of sustainable development. One prize is awarded to Hiba Alyaseen and Rebecka Kvist, 3-year engineering programme in Transport & Roads, for their thesis:
Lessons from the collapse of the Tarfala Hall - an experimental study of the effect of nail connections on out-of-plane stability.
The second graduation prize of SEK 25 000 is awarded to Livia Westerhout, Master's programme in Food Technology and Nutrition, for her Master's thesis:
Developing a clean label, protein-rich, plant-based yoghurt alternative based on cereals and pseudocereals.
Karl-Erik Sahlberg Scholarship for thesis in chemistry
The Karl-Erik Sahlberg Scholarship for outstanding thesis for recently graduated chemistry students of SEK 50 000 has been awarded to Abdallah Almashharawi for his thesis:
Modeling of Biomass Gasification with adaptation to Biological Mehanation using Aspen Plus.
Student Union's Pedagogical Award
Last but not least, the Student Union's Pedagogical Award is also presented during the graduation ceremony. The award goes to Professor Tore Hägglund, Department of Control.
