About CECOST
Current activities in CECOST
CECOST integrates different aspects of combustion research. These include:
- generic, more fundamental activities for instance development of tools such as diagnostic techniques and numerical models
- phenomenological activities such as turbulent combustion and swirl stabilized flames
- applied activities, for example gas turbine combustion and biofuel applications
By forming interdisciplinary projects combining the best expertise from the different disciplines, the overall objective is to significantly strengthen the combustion activities on a national level and to contribute to increased competitiveness for the industry partners and to contribute to the development of a sustainable energy system.
The current period of CECOST runs between 2018 and 2021. The research activities are organised as a center of compentence, KC-CECOST. KC-CECOST is financed equally from three funding sources, the Swedish Energy Agency, part-taking industry and universities.
During the period May 2020 to December 2021 CECOST also hosts a separate project "Research on metal combustion within CECOST".
